When gathering case cites for arguments, briefs, points and authorities and memorandums of law it may not be sufficient to only read the opinion. Read the whole case to arrive at the proper conclusion!
Reading the entire case might also ensure comprehension and understanding of the rulings, strengths and weaknesses of a case, as well as the structure of the winning briefs and pleadings.
Research a case to ensure it has not been over turned. It could be very embarrasing and disasterous to your case. For a complete and accurate reference, seek out the original source.
It may be wise to seek a definitions memorandum from your adversary during discovery - how else are you to know what words and phrases mean in relation to what is being alleged and presumed. In Law - Burden of proof is always on the alleging party.
If a problem exists with what appears to be rogue public servants, keep in mind their oaths, bonds, job descriptions, duties and obligations are public record. So are the laws that hold them accountable for their office. A public servant who is in violation of such may be without immunity and could be held privately accountable.
